  • I was bored... so I took another blog quiz thing found on iloren's xanga...

    You Have Fantastic Karma

You are a kind, sensitive, and giving person.

And all your good deeds will pay off - if they haven't already.

But you're not so concerned with what you get in return anyway.

You have an innate caring nature - and nothing can change that!

  • I've always said that I'm *not* an engineer. But if I were one I guess I would be an....

    Electrical Engineer
You scored 48% sociable, 59% intelligent, 66% nerdy, and 32% destructive!
Electricity turns you on. You love the intellectual challenge of designing circuits, don't you? That's right, you're an Electrical Engineer! Let your nerdiness blossom and build yourself a new capacitor. No one can stop you, their resistance is futile (if less than one Ohm)!

  • anonymouswish's comment made me laugh, but I think it warrants further clarification, lol

    Awh,you do not dance,
you do not drink, do you gamble?  chase after women?  What is
your vice so I will concoct an antidote for you
Posted 5/23/2005 at 9:33 PM by anonymouswish

Ok.. I believe that there is a distinct difference between refusing to dance and
'non-dancing', lol. In other words, I do dance, but when I do, I 'non-dance.'

Gambling... sometimes. But chasing after women? My response is '' heh.

  • Ok, the song has been uploaded. Enjoy, folks.

This song was lodged into my head so much that I found the need to
blast this song and belt it aloud with my own voice. Thank God there is
no one else here; that might just qualify as cruel and unusual
    punishment

  • The following song is currently stuck in my head, and I'm desperately trying to get rid of it, lol. Here are the lyrics; I'll upload it tomorrow night for you all to listen to.

I qualify this posting with a statement that you are free to interpret in however way you wish: 'No disclaimer here'

    The dawn is breaking
    A light shining through
    You're barely waking
And I'm tangled up in you
    Yeah

    But I'm open, you're closed
    Where I follow, you'll go
    I worry I won't see your face
    Light up again

Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to rhyme
Out of the doubt that fills my mind
I somehow find, you and I collide

    I'm quiet, you know
    You make a first impression
I've found I'm scared to know
    I'm always on your mind

Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the stars refuse to shine
Out of the back you fall in time
You somehow find, you and I collide

    Don't stop here
    I've lost my place
    I'm close behind

Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to rhyme
Out of the doubt that fills your mind
You finally find, you and I collide

    You finally find
    You and I collide
    You finally find
    You and I collide

  • Since several ppl seem to be taking it... hmm.. not sure about being labeled as 'liberal,' 'wealthy', or 'romantic' (I think the romantic part still needs a little work, haha), but otherwise it seems accurate, lol.

    Your dating personality profile:

Liberal - Politics matters to you, and you aren't afraid to share your left-leaning views. You would never be caught voting for a conservative candidate.

Romantic - You know exactly how to melt your date's heart. Romance comes naturally to you and is an important component of any relationship you have.

    Your date match profile:

Practical - You are drawn to people who are sensible and smart. Flashy, materialistic people turn you off. You appreciate the simpler side of living.
Religious - You seek someone who is grounded in faith and who possesses religious values. You believe that a religious person can enhance your life.
Big-Hearted - You want someone compassionate, someone gentle and kind. A loving, nurturing person will fill that hole in your life.

  • first impressions.. part trois

Two weekends ago, I went to a family friend/pseudo-cousin's wedding. I was out on the dance floor doing my non-dancing (lol). All of a sudden, the bride's mother, a childhood friend of my mom's, says that I should meet someone, and she even did the classic Asian relative/parent thing and dragged her out to the dance floor right in front of me.

Needless to say, it didn't work out. I was too busy trying not to fall over with my clumsy non-dancing to try to incite any meaningful conversation over the music, and she was too busy being immersed into the poppish-type music.

So that is precisely what got me thinking about first impressions, along with how I personally handled first impressions in previous encounters with others.

This part of cucumberlove's comment made me laugh.

is thesentiment wanting to get out there and meet some new people?  lets find you some hot girls, lol.

Posted 5/12/2005 at 11:51 AM by cucumberlove

Hey, why not? Well, it's exactly what I've set out to do, as I wrote in that French entry way back when.

It's time for bed. I can't believe it's 1:30am already. Good early morning, everyone.

  • keys

Thanks to anonymouswish and shrek_azn for posting this blogthing.

What Are The Keys To Your Heart?

You are attracted to obedience and warmth.

In love, you feel the most alive when your lover is creative and never lets you feel bored.

You'd like to your lover to think you are loyal and faithful... that you'll never change.

You would be forced to break up with someone who was ruthless, cold-blooded, and sarcastic.

Your ideal relationship is open. Both of you can talk about everything... no secrets.

Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment.

You think of marriage as something precious. You'll treasure marriage and treat it as sacred.

In this moment, you think of love as something you thirst for. You'll do anything for love, but you won't fall for it easily.

  • first impressions.. part deux

Thanks to those who gave feedback about the first impression thing. I myself believe that first impressions are totally overrated, but they exist for a reason. The example of job interviews was mentioned, where essentially all you get is the first impression. But in terms of meeting people socially, should it be different?

I argue yes, but indeed, most people, in practice, seem to think otherwise.

cucumberlove says that one should be oneself when meeting others. My main problem is that nerves get the better of me, and I act uncharacteristically *unlike* myself, lol.

It takes more than a few tries for me to get used to something new; I suppose it's just another one of those things.
